I wore my device and exercised for more minutes than what displays in the Paceline app. What happened?
Paceline Minutes equal the amount of time you maintained an elevated heart rate, so it's expected that your workout's total duration may differ from the Paceline Minutes you received. Paceline reads the activity summary directly from your linked device or health app — we don’t make any calculations or modifications to the data.
During a workout, there are moments where your heart rate isn't elevated: like stretching, resting, or pausing for water. Those moments don't count toward elevated heart rate (eHR) minutes.
How each device or provider maps activity to Paceline
| Device/Provider | eHR Metric Used |
|---|---|
| Apple Health/Apple Watch | Exercise Minutes |
| Fitbit | Active Minutes or Active Zone Minutes (depending on model) |
| Garmin | Intensity Minutes |
| Google Health | Active Minutes |
| Oura Ring | Activity Time |
| Ultrahuman Ring | Activity Minutes |
| WHOOP | Strain |
| Withings | Active Minutes |
