What is the Strengthen Your Muscles Goal?

The Strengthen Your Muscles goal rewards you for completing strength-focused workouts each week.

To complete the goal, you must:

  • Complete at least 2 strength workouts
  • On at least 2 separate days
  • Totaling at least 30 Paceline minutes

A reminder: Paceline minutes are derived from the eHR minutes captured by your wearable device and are not the same as your total workout duration.

Why does Paceline reward strength training?

Both the American Heart Association and World Health Organization recommend regular physical activity and strength training as part of a healthy lifestyle.

The Paceline app is designed around these science-backed recommendations:

  • At least 150 minutes of activity each week
  • Activity spread across multiple days
  • Strength training at least twice per week

Strength-focused workouts help improve daily performance, support metabolic health, and reduce injury risk.

What qualifies as a strength workout?

Strength workouts are activities designed to build strength using free weights, machines, resistance, or body weight. At Paceline, the following workouts count as strength workouts:

Strength & Resistance Training: Strength Training, Weightlifting, Powerlifting, Functional Strength Training, Functional Fitness, Calisthenics, Stand Up Paddleboarding

HIIT & High-Intensity Training: HIIT, High Intensity Interval Training, Crossfit, Bootcamp, Circuit Training, Cross Training, Mixed Metabolic Cardio Training

Combat & Martial Arts: Boxing, Kickboxing, Martial Arts, Wrestling

Climbing: Rock Climbing, Bouldering, Indoor Climbing, Floor Climbing

Mind-Body: Yoga, Pilates, Barre, Gymnastics

Rowing: Indoor Rowing, Rowing Machine

Cardio & Conditioning: Jumping Rope, Plyometrics, Aerobics, Assault Bike, Stair Climbing, Stair Stepper, Step Training, Dance Inspired Training, Core Training

Wheelchair Activities: Wheelchair Pushing, Wheelchair Run Pace

What if my strength workout synced over in the wrong category?

Paceline maps workout types from your connected device or health app to the activities we recognize. Occasionally, a workout may sync incorrectly or land under a general category like "Other" — this can happen when a provider uses a label we don't have a direct match for, or when they update how they classify activities on their end.

If a workout didn't count toward your goal and you think it should have, contact us and we'll take a look.
