What is Paceline Score?

Paceline Score is a simple, holistic score that brings your health signals together into one number. Start with the score, then go beyond the number to understand where you're making progress and which areas deserve more attention.

Paceline Score is available with a Paceline+ subscription. To learn more about Paceline+, see our Paceline+ overview.

Why we created it

Health data can be a lot to keep track of. Paceline Score turns complexity into consistency by showing how your everyday habits add up over time, so you can learn what moves you, make confident decisions, and build healthier habits every day.

The science behind Paceline Score

Your Paceline Score is built on established health benchmarks, designed to reflect what matters most, and personalized to you. Paceline Score uses the following health metrics, synced from your connected device:

  • Resting Heart Rate (RHR): your heart rate at rest
  • Endurance (VO₂Max): your body's maximum oxygen uptake capacity
  • Sleep: your average hours of sleep per night
  • Elevated Heart Rate (eHR) Minute: minutes per week spent with your heart rate in an elevated zone
  • Strength Workout: number of strength training sessions per week
  • Step: your average daily step count

Where to find it

In the Paceline app, tap Health at the bottom of the screen, then tap Score. If you’re not currently a Paceline+ subscriber, you’ll see the option to subscribe to generate your score.

How to read your score

Five bands make the scale easy to scan:

RangeLabel
800–850Peak
740–799Great
670–739Good
580–669Fair
0–579Low

Use these ranges as reference points. They reflect where you are relative to people with similar demographics.

Below your overall score, each metric has its own card showing its individual label (Peak, Fair, or Low) and score. Tap any card to see more detail, including your 8-week weighted average and your value for the current week.

Your score appears once Paceline has enough history to see a clear pattern.

  • Six signals: Your score is shaped by EHR Minutes, Steps, Strength, Sleep, Resting heart rate, and Endurance (VO₂ max).
  • Eight weeks at a time: Your score updates every Monday and is calculated from the latest eight weeks, so one strong or quiet week nudges your score but doesn't define it.
  • Five bands: Your score falls into one of five ranges, from Low to Peak
  • Made for you: Your score is normalized for your age and biological sex, so it reflects your health relative to people with a similar profile.
