What Withings activity counts toward Paceline eHR Minutes?

For Withings, Paceline eHR Minutes are derived from Withings' Active Minutes from workouts tracked in the Withings app. You can read more about how Withings tracks activity here: Workouts and Activity Recognition.

Linking your Withings to Paceline

Follow these steps to connect your device:

  1. Tap the Profile icon in the upper left corner and select Linked Fitness Devices
  2. Tap Connect another device, select Withings, sign into your Withings account, and allow all activity syncing permissions

Did you get a new Withings device?

If your new Withings device is set up under the same Withings account you're already linked to Paceline, you don't need to do anything else.

Did you get a new Phone?

When you get a new phone, the Paceline app is typically transferred over automatically. In some cases, permissions may need to be reauthorized. If your Withings device is syncing with your new phone but not with Paceline, follow these steps:

  1. Delete and reinstall the Paceline app
  2. Unlink and relink Withings:

Why isn't my Withings activity data syncing to Paceline?

If your Withings activity isn't appearing in Paceline, worry not — it's usually a permissions or sync issue. The steps below will help refresh the connection between Paceline and your Withings device, so your effort is recognized and counted toward your progress.

Required Settings (iPhone)

In order for Paceline to work, you must enable the following settings on your iPhone:

  1. SettingsBluetoothON

Why: Withings syncs to the Withings app via Bluetooth before syncing data to Paceline.

  2. SettingsGeneralBackground App RefreshPacelineON

Why: Ensures Paceline can update and import your activity data smoothly, even when the app isn't open.

Required Settings (Android)

In order for Paceline to work, you must enable the following settings on your Android phone:

  1. SettingsAppsWithingsPermissionsTurn On Physical Activity and Nearby Devices / Bluetooth

Why: Required for Withings to sync your activity data via Bluetooth.

  2. SettingsAppsWithingsBatteryUnrestricted (or Allow background activity, depends on the phone)

Why: This prevents Android from pausing Withings sync in the background.

  3. SettingsBluetoothON

Why: Withings must sync via Bluetooth before Paceline can read your data.

Tips to improve reliability

  • Keep the Withings app installed and up to date
  • Keep your Withings device and phone in close proximity
  • Leave Bluetooth ON so your Withings device stays synced with your phone
  • Open Paceline at least once a week — the more often you open it, the more reliably we can sync your data and maintain syncing permissions
  • Open the Withings app regularly so your latest activity syncs before Paceline pulls it
  • Not every fitness device can automatically track every workout type — check which workouts your device can auto-sense and which need to be manually started
  • Some fitness devices default to Sunday–Saturday weeks, while Paceline weeks run Monday 00:00 → Sunday 23:59 (your local time) — update your week start in your device's app settings if you'd like them to match

Troubleshooting Missing Activity Data

Quick Fixes

  1. Update your Withings app, Withings device firmware, and phone software to the latest versions
  2. Confirm that all Required Settings above are enabled
  3. Open the Withings app and confirm your device has synced recent activity
  4. Open Paceline and keep it open in the foreground for 3–5 minutes on a strong Wi-Fi or cellular connection (this is important)
  5. On the Activity tab, tap and pull down to refresh the data — If your activity appears, you're good to go. If not, continue below

Advanced Sync Troubleshooting

  6. On the Activity tab, tap and pull down to refresh the data

If your activity still doesn't appear after 24 hours, please contact us with a screenshot of the missing Active Minutes or Workouts from your Withings app. Since we don't have your physical device in-hand, this helps us find where the sync is getting stuck so that we can get you back on track.
